" A piece of intimate guitar playing is used to highlight the mournful story "Written by Joep de Bruijn - Review of the music as heard in the movie
Morfi is a 31-minute documentary by Louisa Vergozisi from 2026. After moving to the Netherlands, she spent two years filming her father, an apple farmer in a small Greek village, facing modern challenges. The touching personal documentary allowed the filmmaker to reconnect with her father.
Simon Doesborgh composed a brief two-minute score for the documentary. Vergozisi's voice-over opens the documentary by describing the melancholy of the village and her memories. It shows footage of her father working in Morfi, interspersed with childhood photos. A piece of intimate guitar playing is used to highlight the mournful story, but it is soon drowned out by other sounds. These brief guitar phrases do not resurface until the final credits, in a shorter version.
While it is a very short score, it is indescribably strong within the commendable documentary.
