Cobra Kai: Season 6 Part 2

" Part 2 builds up to the climax "Written by Thomas Glorieux - Review of the download only release
Cobra Kai: Season 6 2nd part couldn't arrive fast enough, especially after the first part's cliffhanger. Now we're in Barcelona Spain and ready to get a tournament underway. The composers are back, ready to infuse some small flavors in what is pretty much a fast paced selection. Longer than part 1, and Cobra Kai: Season 6 Part 2 jumps right in the action with "First Event" and "Protect the Captain", delivering small hints of characters along the way. Like the Mexican flair in "Iron Dragons" for the female bad ass character Zara. Followed by action shenanegans in "Sekai Taikai Brutality" and "Elimination Phase", tracks that are fun but not reaching their momentum.
Soft tracks are sparse, but a necessary change of pace. "Keenry on Ice", the ethnic dive into Myagi's past in "The Search for Master Serrano" and the Robby theme in "Live with This Failure". Some Irish flair colours the fight in "Dublin Thunder" all the while Spanish flair surrounds Sam's theme lovely in "Barcelona Nights", and Mexican Zara hotness gives some sexy vibes in "Furia De Pantera", all giving color and flair to the Cobra Kai Season 6 Part 2 soundtrack. Naturally a twist comes around in classical music, then you know who's sitting in the "Hot Tub". Action is running all around after that, but various crowd pleasers do stand out, like the amazing "Redentores", sounding ferocious and heroic. Followed by a lovely coming together moment in "No Crying in Karate", featuring the Miyago Do theme. Another winner is the wonderful "MDCK", reaching back to the wonderful thrilling music of the hall fight. Or the no nonsense choral attack fest "Mortal Kwon-Bat", featuring Cobra Kai's no nonsense whailing guitars. It goes to show the fights not only look brutal, they sound brutal as well.
Another winner is the flashback in "Daniel's Nightmare", the ethnic influences of Conti are downright amazing. And the return to the sassy sax music is truly fun and exciting in "Entrenando Duro". But the finale is for the all out war, and you'll hear snippets of the classical music (Terry Silver), the ferocious Axel showdown in "The Iron Fist" and the non stop attack on the senses when all hell breaks loose in "Karate War", which is pretty awesome. The Robby heroic statement, some choral back up here and there, the Zara Mexican flair and the Cobra Kai balls to the walls chaos. It's pretty great if you all decipher the details around this action music. The war continues in "Última Sangre" which has a wonderful dramatic final few minutes, it's basically trailer music.
Cobra Kai: Season 6 Part 2 might begin with action music, somehow it doesn't really grab you by the ... euhm karate gi. But it somehow changes for the best after say track 15, giving us some all out action tracks that are amazing. And if you really pay attention, you'll hear incredible details in what would essentially be lifeless action music. No, the themes of the characters interweve with one another, the sounds that stand for the do's are thrown in between, it's all more elaborate than you might think. It's thrilling if you start to decipher it and it truly grabbed me by the throat. The second part deserves a wonderful 4 star rating, but the first does pull it down. Still a build up to an amazing finale and a whopping second part selection.
The Conti influence in "Daniel's Nightmare" is downright amazing.
Lots of color in this season, Irish, Mexican, Spanish, Korean colors all sparkle one way or another.
Second part of this selection delivers the best material. The action music is at times phenomenal.
Sadly the first part of the selection isn't the best
