    Hans Zimmer to collaborate with ‘Rodrigo y Gabriela’ on new Pirates movie

    Hans Zimmer revealed in a recent interview on KCRW that he is currently collaborating with the Mexican music duo Rodrigo y Gabriela on his score for Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides

    The news came out when La-La-Land announced the score release.

    I found that video myself. Zimmer's style in the piece is evident, a bit of Batman Begins reference. The theme itself is already better than Modern Warfare 2 as a whole.

  18. For real? First I've heard of it. I'm gonna play Crysis 2 soon. Will be sweet to hear Zimmer in the background, hopefully it's a little more than just wallpaper scoring though..

    Game's end credits says that Graeme Norgate is the Audio Director. He's also composer.

    EDIT: His blog says "I'm a composer and sound designer, currently working at Crytek UK".

    Music is amazing IMO, much better than Crysis 1 and Crysis Warhead.

    The name that appears a lot seems to be Steven Kofsky and the guy works with the Production Services in Remote Control. The plot thickens biggrin

    Hmm, I wonder what it is going to turn out like. I love Rodrigo and Gabriella, and I have had the chance to see them live.
    Now I'm wondering what it will sound like when they cooperate with Hans Zimmer...

    According to the official Crysis website, "the best parts of the release" are mostly NOT by Zimmer.

    Just like I suspected, the quite sophiscated counterpoint in "SOS New York" is too complex for Zimmer & Co.
