LAKESHORE RECORDS TO RELEASE WAITING FOR “SUPERMAN”

Christophe Beck Composed The Original Music For The Film, Which Won
The Audience Award, US Documentary, At Sundance Film Festival

(September 27, 2010- Los Angeles, CA) – Lakeshore Records will release the Waiting for “Superman” -- Original Motion Picture Score available digitally on September 21st and in stores on October 19, 2010. Christophe Beck (Under the Tuscan Sun, The Hangover) composed the original music for the documentary, from Davis Guggenheim (An Inconvenient Truth).

Upon graduation from Yale in 1992, Christophe Beck moved to Los Angeles to attend USC's prestigious film scoring program, where he studied with Jerry Goldsmith. Beck was immediately attracted to the creative challenges unique to the marriage of music and picture. A personal recommendation from the legendary Buddy Baker, head of the USC Music Department, led to his first assignment for a Canadian TV series called White Fang. Soon thereafter, he was asked to score a new TV series, Buffy, based on the movie. Beck received the Emmy for Outstanding Music Composition for his music to Buffy. He decided to leave and pursue film work.

In an unprecedented short time span, composer Christophe Beck has scored numerous films in virtually every genre. His talent is evident in a wide-range of features from the classic teen comedy Bring It On and the best-selling novel film adaptation Under The Tuscan Sun, to the highest grossing R-rated comedy of all time, The Hangover. Beck's recent credits include What Happens in Vegas, Fred Clause, License to Wed, Charlie Bartlett, The Seeker, Year of the Dog, We Are Marshall, School for Scoundrels, The Pink Panther and The Pink Panther 2, Post Grad, Hot Tub Time Machine, Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief, and Death at a Funeral.

When disaster strikes in America, heroes rush in. We’ve seen it time and time again: when all seems lost, real-life supermen (and women) step up to save the day. But what if, right now, there is a hidden catastrophe spreading quietly, insidiously through our nation’s cities, towns and communities – and yet we have the power to stop it? What if our children and their futures – were in peril? Who will become a hero now?

From Davis Guggenheim, the Academy Award®-winning director of An Inconvenient Truth, comes another stirring, must-see clarion call of our times: Waiting for “Superman,” a deeply personal exploration of the current state of public education in the U.S. and how it effects our children. Fueled by his conscience and electrified by the possibilities for change, Guggenheim sets off on a probing journey into the lives of five unforgettable kids whose dreams, hopes and untapped potential reveal all that is at stake at this critical moment.

Paramount Vantage and Participant Media present in association with Walden Media an Electric Kinney Films production of a film by Davis Guggenheim, Waiting for “Superman,” in select theaters on September 24, 2010. Waiting for “Superman” – Original Motion Picture Score on Lakeshore Records will be released digitally on September 21st and in stores on October 19, 2010.

This is getting very good reviews (the film); anyone seen it?
Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders.
  2. Great, another No-CD situation.

Anyway, not seen the film, but you can go to his site and hear some cues from it:
