NP: An Unfinished Life - Christopher Young

A beautiful little score which is miles better than Deborah Lurie's average replacement effort. A lovely soothing listen and one of Young's best in recent years.

    cool

    Yes. I love it!

To 10 ("The Ten") - Eleni Karaindrou

Karaindrou's music for a greek soap/mini series (?) is moody, stylish and very enjoyable. Of course it's pretty bouzouki-heavy, but it still steers away from the now-clichéd seventies "Zorba" sound in favour of a more introspective style that fits the instrumentation well.
    Good stuff!

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button - Alexandre Desplat

I watched the movie yesterday for the second time (it's my favourite in years) so today I had to listen to the score again. Beautiful, sensitive, moving music.
It definitely should have won the Oscar! angry

Take A Hard Ride Jerry Goldsmith

I love the soaring theme for this one, a great piece of music. Anyone know of a good re-recording of that theme?

Probably my favourite Goldsmith western theme! Don't know of any re-recording though - let alone a good one. (Don't really require one myself, either - don't recall the sound quality being poor?)

Well, it's not exactly knock-you-on-your-ass-amazing either. It's probably my favourite Goldsmith western theme too... you can't help but feel lifted when you listen to it. shocked

    NP:Lionheart (Goldsmtih)

I love the "lake". Mind Blowing. and "king Richard" is an splendid track where every theme is reprised, it doesn't happen in very much of Goldsmith scores...

In some scores, Goldsmith shows clear influences of Alex Nort's Rythms. dizzy

I will Play next: King Solomon's Mines (Goldsmith)

One of my favourites adventure scores from the Maestro.

Also, while several people have commented on this score, I have this odd suspicion that I am the only MT member that actually owns this physically on CD... cool

Don't tell anyone but I also have the CD.

You actually used legal tender for this? Damn.
  3. It's one that I need to listen to a few times for it to sink in. There are several tracks that standout straight away though: "Setting The Trap", "Gunnar's Raid" and "Tell Me About Your Dragon" get the CD off to a good start.

Call me old fashioned but I tend to get most of my music via legal means. wink
