    Ghostbusters

I loved this film when I was about 12, which is the last time I saw it (having watched it at least half a dozen times by then!) Now, it seems like a very odd film, very much a product of its time, and really only mildly diverting (and rarely funny). I like the acting and the music (which works wonderfully in the film, but is far too piecemeal to make a decent CD). Will probably be another 20 years before I watch it again.

Ghostbusters 1 & 2 are childhood favourites of mine and have since remained favourites. Though mostly due to nostalgia I reluctantly admit.

A French film in subtitles called "Secret," yet another movie with ties to the holocaust. I hate to sound calloused about this but the Nazi stories have been plentiful lately with "Boy In Striped Pajamas," "Valkerie,"
"The Reader," and now this. (**) with a weak score by Priesnew.

I think you have neglected to place emphasis on the body of Cecile de France.

Alien Director's Cut, Aliens SE. Already watched Alien³ SE today ( rolleyes ), so it'll be Alien Resurrection SE tonight. I bought the quadrology 9dvd box on play.com last week for 8 or 9 pounds.

Hi Rian, I was there at the meeting some time ago if you remember sitting next to you, red pullover. And once you get started about the Alien saga I don't wanna shut up. Aliens is and always will be my favourite movie I ever had the pleasure of watching. I once mad a fan site devoted to it, but I was too embarrassed (amateurish) to publish it on the web. To this day I still regret not having seen it at the cinema (I was 11 and missed it, saw it couple of years after). ALIENS FOR LIFE punk

Play, awesome web-shop that one... I can't tell you how many bargains I got there (I buy nearly everything there that is media-related, well except for scores).

I Am Legend and Indiana Jones 4

Saw these again for the second time on DVD, 1st time both in the cinema. Wasn't particularly overwhelmed by either, but I Am Legend still is the better of these two films. I actually enjoyed it more this time, thanks to a stellar Will Smith and brilliant desolate New York scenery. And Indy 4 is best if you just take it for what it is, a lousy Indy film, but still an enjoyable adventure flick. From Spielberg and Lucas I expected nothing less than an absolute masterpiece. Boy was I wrong!!!!

Indy four is indeed not the movie many wanted, no matter how fun it remains
it is the weak ass story that takes the fun away rolleyes

I Am Legend is indeed a movie that grows on you, and having seen both endings, I agree the movie ending is a lot better than the replaced ending

Excellent! That stand-off between Meryl Streep and Philip Seymour Hoffman was top stuff. Heck, this is a well made film!

hehe, you're so right about that
    but what a lady shame
she would have been perfect in Casino Royale smile , considering she was considered for the role (or was that Quantum of Solace?)

  6. Watched King Arthur for the first time last time...god, what an awful film!

I'm glad I heard ZImmer's score as a separate listening experience at the time the movie premiered: if I'd have heard it as I did in the movie then I would have just passed it by.

I can't stand Keira Knightley at the best of times, but what a horrible piece of casting that was! There's no way that skinny ass could fight off hoards of burly warriors. Stupid. And so is she. slant

I have this odd inkling that particular someone may well have been Spanish.

That huge part where she practically delivered an oscar-winning performance? It was alright, I agree.

And King Arthur, I've seen it once and I have no desire to re-watch it in this life, let alone in the next. I just didn't like the look of the movie at all.

Fans of Cecile de France really must watch UN SECRET. (Which isn't a bad film either, just a familiar one.) You will see - if only briefly - all that you might care to see about her.

    Everyone's talking about
    Keira Knightley

All this talk about women with alliterative names brought to mind the radiant (and wonderfully-named) January Jones. I've been an avid fan of Mad Men, in which she stars, since it started; if this isn't the best thing on tv at the moment then I'd be amazed. Outstanding.
