NP: CLASSICAL MUSHROOM (Infected Mushroom)
High-class psytrance with hints of acoustics and vocals and rock. And classical music-type chord progressions. It's lovely.I am extremely serious. -

Love the long outros in their vocal tracks. I mean, check out Somersault and The Space Between. Very cool.

My shipment of Chandos material arrived and they are offering a 3 CD set for the price of 2 of RVW film music. This is all wonderful material from a true master.

I got RVW 1,5 weeks ago too. I ordered from mdt.co.uk and they have currently discount on Chandos, so I got 3 CDs for the price of 1,5!

Either way, maybe we should actually go to Glastonbury for once!
I think I'm going to Reading this summer? Or something, I just said "Yeah, sure, why not" to something!? -
- CommentTimeJun 23rd 2009
I did have a few go last year, yeah, but maybe Steven did too?
There's a much bigger crowd going this year though. I would have joined them but I had Australia and all that. -

If you don't have this material it is a wonderful way to introduce yourself to RVW and you've made the price even more attractive. Put a direct link up for all of the Euro connection.listen to more classical music! -

I Am A Bird Now - Antony And The Johnsons
One of the oddest, most enigmatic performances I have ever heard.
And quite possible the most melancholy one.
While ticking all the wrong boxes (weird vocal stylistics, gloomy strings) it all competely unexpectedly comes together in a fascinating, emotionally draining unity as, in the softest, most non-intrusive way, their acidic melodies unobtrusively melt all resistance and leave you with feelings of wonderment, tranquility and a slight sadness and solitude.
But it's a sweet misery.'no passion nor excitement here, despite all the notes and musicians' ~ Falkirkbairn -

Hmmmm. I'm not really trying to be "interesting" here.
It's pretty hard to catch the thing in words due to the seemingly conflicting sentiments.
At times like those it's easier to grab for a metaphor and capture the experience rather than an analysis..'no passion nor excitement here, despite all the notes and musicians' ~ Falkirkbairn -
