I got through quite a bit actually, and definitely liked what I heard. Though hard to remember what I particularly liked since there's so much material there... (I think his 5th symphony, the Horner one, was one I enjoyed. Particularly.) -

Love his 5th though I do much prefer the 7th & 10th, the 10th being possibly his most 'film music' like.On Friday I ate a lot of dust and appeared orange near the end of the day ~ Bregt -

WP: STABAT MATER - Karl Jenkins
Grand and great composition from Jenkins, probably my favorite. But despite its sheer beauty in places, it never really touches the heart nor gets real emotion, unlike the Passion of the Christ Symphony, which basically deals the same subject (be it from another viewpoint). -

What, you don't like Golden Earring?
I had a cassette with them once. Played it quite often. But I seem to remember that it was more blues-oriented and "acoustic" than prog, now that I think of it.I am extremely serious. -

NP: Symphony on a French Mountain Air - Animé (Vincent D'Indy)
A powerful piece of music more on the jubilant and celebratory side of mountains rather than the mystery.I am extremely serious. -

NP: Chicoutimi Set (trad.) (Chris Norman)
Performer of traditional folk songs. Very catchy stuff.I am extremely serious. -

Too bad. Arvo Part is the father of a very influential and important musical movement, neo-modal / neo-tonal music which is really, really interesting to say the least.Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders. -

I´ve just finished my first listen and I really, really like it! Wow, what a coincidence I´ve caught it this morning on TV (Berliner Philharmoniker, Sir Simon Rattle conducting). Otherwise I doubt I´d ever known about it.Anything with an orchestra or with a choir....at some point will reach you -

WP: IN PRINCIPIO - Arvo Part
Probably one of Parts more accessible works, though this doesn't make in any less impressive. Full of beautiful compositions for strings and choir, which starts big with orchestra and percussion, but steadily grows more personal (amonst others with a stunning new performance of Da Pacem Domine, now with strings), closing with Fur Lennart In Memoriam, a calm and tragic composition solely for strings which leaves the listener in that Partian ethereal state. Recommended, though I need more listens to say anything meaningful about it (I just let it come over me, since I'm quite tired and just needed to mentally relax). -

I'd certainly recommend this disc for the Fratres:
