No previous thread on this Danish film composer legend who passed away in July this year, 95 years old -- and active untill the last!

Here's a group review we just did, about his magnum opus FLÅKLYPA GRAND PRIX [PINCHCLIFFE GRAND PRIX]. In Norwegian:

A superb composer.. He composed the music to 33 Olsen-banden films, and two Olsen-banden series! I think that´s a world record.

Indeed. Incidentally, the first Norwegian OLSENBANDEN film (a remake of the Danish original, like most have been) had a Norwegian composer - our own legend Egil Monn-Iversen. But from the second film onwards, all the Norwegian films had Bjerre scores.

Few of you have heard about these movies, but they are iconic in Norway and Denmark. And Sweden has their own version called Jönssonligaen. And I've heard OLSENBANDEN is pretty huge in Germany as well. But that's about it. So I'm impressed you're familiar with this.

His MATADOR theme is one of the most gorgeous themes I know: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JA23S0U … dkFilmogTv

It should be no more surprising that I am aware of the key/popular/lesser known opponents of Norwegian cinema and scores as well.
